The Marvelous Bohol
Our Yearend Workshop was held in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Our tour provider was DONR Travel and Tours owned and managed by Ms. Odessa Del Rosario from Naic Cavite. (Very patient and accomodating I must say)
Via Zest Air, we took the first flight (745am) bound to Tagbilaran and we arrived around 915am. Upon arrival, 2 van of Vest Pension House were waiting for us. Vest Pension House served as our home for the entire duration of our stay in Bohol. It is a very clean, staff are very approachable, and there is even a free continental breakfast. It really feels like home. A few minutes after we placed our bags in our room, we prepared for what Tagbilaran is in store for us.
First stop: Blood Compact site. Took pictures. (Sad to see that there is a hotel under construction just beside the site. Of all the possible places...)
Next stop: Since luch is already approaching, we proceed to Loboc River where a sumptuous buffet lunch awaits us. There are seafood, pork, chicken and vegetable dishes. Fruits in season are also served for dessert. It was a clean long river which we find very relaxing. There is also a singer/performer on board and somewhere at the end of the river is a group of locals performing Bohol folk songs.
Third stop: The Hanging Bridge. A bridge ade of bamboo which connects two land areas. Some people are terrified to cross while some who consider themselves brave, screams.
Fourth stop: Manmade Forest. The towering mahogany trees is simply amazing and refreshing. It's fun to take jumpshots though once in a while we needed to be aware of the vehicles passing by. Such a busy road in the middle of the forest. Literally middle.=)
Fifth: Chocolate Hills. Brace yourselves for it's time to exercise. There are hundreds of steps we need to endure before we get to see the beauty of the hills. It was worth it. God is really wonderful. His creations are admirable.
Sixth: Python. The longest in Asia. (I forgot how long because i am afraid of snakes though some managed to touch and even embrace the python.) The guide said there is nothing to be scared about. It just fed 2 goats so it is definitely full and has no appetite that time. The interesting part of our Python visit is oour encounter with the foreigner who sells ice cream in flavors like calamansi, garlic, bacardi and spicy chocolate (just to name a few) Deliciouso!
Seventh: Tarsier Conservatory. I just wish they are not endangered species. There are but a few and it could have been a better experience if they are many and could be touched as well.
Eighth: Chicken Ati-atihan. I was captured by their tag line.
Ninth: Island Hopping. We explored some of the beautiful islands of Bohol like Balicasag Island, Virgin Island and Panglao Island. Each island has something special to offer. We enjoyed Dolphin watching on our way to Balicasag Island. Virgin island wowed us with it's sand bar. We had our lunch in the boat. Seafood o seafood! Panglao Island, ont he other hand, has fine powdery sand. We forgot about the hot weather and went swimming. The beach allures us to do so. We cannot resist the temptation.
Tenth: Hinagdanan Cave. It's like a mini Underground River of Palawan. The tour guide is so entertaining. He made us all laugh.
Eleventh: Sugba. Tula. Kilaw.
To sum it up, we definitely will come back. This better have a repeat.
